Climate Change: Culture Change
Lucy gave a brief resume of Helix Arts diverse projects that have been at the vanguard socially engaged and environmental arts practice for forty years. Following the company’s successful ‘Climate Change Explorer’ project, that linked an artist with a senior school and the Centre for Ecology and Hydrology, Lucy explained that she was now developing ‘Climate Change: Culture Change’. This would be a carbon neutral conference to reflect Newcastle-on-Tyne’s declaration of being the world’s first carbon neutral city. Facilitated by greenmuseum.org, world renowned speakers would contribute via live webcasts to minimise air travel.
Climate Change: Culture Change was successfully delivered in June 2006 and Lucy looks forward to her retirement in July 2006. Helix Arts continues.
