Shrewsbury will be at the heart of international celebrations for the Darwin Bicentenary. As part of the celebrations, the town will install a lasting memorial inspired by Darwin's life and ideas. The site chosen is Mardol Quay Gardens near the town's historic heart and across the river from Shrewsbury's Theatre Severn which is due to open in March 09. After an extensive selection process the team of Pearce & Lal were chosen to manufacture and install their design 'Quantum Leap'. The garden will also be used to reflect Shropshire's remarkable geological story - ten of the twelve geological periods.
