The festival was founded in 2003 and each year we welcome visitors to Shrewsbury as we celebrate our famous son with lectures, workshops, arts events and occasionally, comedy. More...

Summer Symposium
It's been a terrific year in Shrewsbury with a major Science/Art Festival Shift Time and a number of new commissions including dance, opera, drama and music. We'd like to thank everyone that has contributed to our celebrations.
The Mount
The Darwin Birthplace Society is negotiating public access, supported by the Borough Council. There are plans for an interpretation -education centre.
2009 will be a major fundraising year for the trust.

Darwin Memorial & Geo Garden
Shrewsbury has commissioned a lasting memorial to Darwin's bicentenary year.
The winning design was Quantum Leap by Pearce & Lal.
