This building dates back to the early 16th Century. Like many buildings of its age, there is a slight overhang to overcome limited ground floor space and increase the size of the property. Traditionally, the beam that supports such an overhang is known as a ‘Dragon Beam’. The building was renovated in the 1980’s using a steel girder for the support. If you look up, you’ll see that somebody clearly had a sense of humour when it came to disguising the end of the beam!
